Recent News, Updates & Events

The increasingly in-demand expertise and standards of the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC) were on display recently at two educational conferences held on separate coasts by chapters of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC).

The interview runs the gamut on the “imperatives about proper healthcare laundry processes that infection preventionists (IPs) must know,” including: the newest challenges to healthcare textiles (HCTs); key areas to look for potential HCT contamination; the need for better communication and collaboration between IPs and the laundry profession; ways that IPs can help facilitate collaboration; and the need for hospitals to look at HCTs as an investment in quality patient outcomes and not just an expense.

PHSC supports practices that are friendly to our environment. The design of the production plant included innovative equipment engineering including water recycling systems, heat reclamation, energy efficient lighting, green chemistry in the wash process and other practices conducive to renewable energy sources. The Board of Directors of PHSC is committed to on-going investments that continue to make PHSC the flagship of environmentally friendly healthcare laundry facilities in the US.
